We are continuing to work within the new Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) in our district, a new statewide system for funding our schools. LCFF has changed the previous funding model to allow local school districts the opportunity to develop goals for students, based upon identified needs and priorities, to be measured annually for success. The Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) is the document that specifies these student goals and methods for measurement of success. The new LCFF and LCAP process includes the active engagement and consultation with our stakeholders.
We are proud and excited to have initiated the process of engaging each of our stakeholders in the LCAP development. We have completed our "Division" (Grades TK-3, 4-6, 7-8) Stakeholder Input Meetings (January 21, 22, 23) and look forward to reviewing the Division "themes" identified by each group at our February 4 th and 27 th District (Grades TK-8) Stakeholder Input Meetings. This team will identify "district priorities" to be incorporated into our first draft of the LCAP document. We will continue to provide you with dates of our upcoming input sessions where the draft LCAP document may be reviewed and where additional input may be received for revision. We commend our Board of Trustees and all members of the stakeholder groups - including ALL parents and staff who responded to our recent surveys - on your active participation in this process. This is certainly an exciting time for education in California and in the Eureka Union School District.
