www.lexile.com.  This website allows you to find books at your child's reading level, as well as check the reading level of books in your home.  Note: you must login, the account name is "parents" and the password is "eureka" in lower-case letters.

www.electricschoolhouse.com.  In partnership with PBS, this new site brings resources to parents, teachers and kids.  For kids, it creates a safe, self-contained, child-oriented environment away from the rougher side of the the Internet; and the kids material is grouped for various ages, including K-3.

www.abcparenting.com: a web portal for parents helping to review and categorize parent and family web sites.  A good place to start.

one of the premier destinations on-line for parents, providing articles, discussion, and child-development activities.
