As you have probably noticed, many traffic rules have changed on Johnson Ranch drive. I know that I communicated potential changes that Roseville City implemented on the city street.

To recap a couple of the important ones:

  1. Please do not arrive early to pick up your child. Plan to be here at 1:30 and not before, this will reduce the line up of cars.
  2. Left turns are not allowed on Johnson Ranch into are parking lot from 1 pm - 3 pm. ( Cars leaving the parking lot clear faster as there is less concern for cars coming into lot. )
  3. No Parking signs are posted next to the park prohibiting parking during the hours of 1 pm - 3pm. (This is to address the line of waiting cars against the curb thereby allowing through traffic to proceed.)
  4. Students are not to be picked up anywhere on the white curb (Johnson Ranch Drive) as there is no adult supervision - this includes Kindergarten students. All students must be picked up in the Maidu School Parking Lot against the yellow curb.
  5. U-turns are not allowed and are unsafe on Johnson Ranch Drive. Please pre- plan your driving route to come down Johnson Ranch Drive from Rocky Ridge or Branding Iron Way.
  6. Please cross the street on Johnson Ranch Drive only at the cross walk and not at other places. We always strive to model appropriate and safe behavior for students when coming or leaving school. If we allow students to across at a non-crosswalk area with us, they will certainly do that when they are not supervised.
  7. As always you can park in the main parking lot, neighborhood (not on Johnson Ranch Drive) in the Maidu Park Parking lot or down near the Maidu Interpretive Center to allow you to walk to pick up your students or have them walk to meet you.

I know that many of these Roseville city regulated changes will require you to make  changes to your habits. I appreciate your dedication to keeping all of our students safe. If you have any questions, please call the school office.

Sincerely,

Janet Schimpf

Principal
