2022-2023 New Student Registration (for the CURRENT School Year)

To ensure you are filling out the correct document(s) please read carefully and become familiar with the following processes and steps:

While completing the registration form, you will have the opportunity to upload required documents as listed and explained on our Registration Documents page . Please have them ready before beginning the online form or contact your site for other options regarding site review of these critical documents.
    1. If you DO NOT RESIDE within the Eureka Union School District boundaries please proceed to the Interdistrict section below.
    2. If you Do RESIDE within the Eureka Union School District boundaries but wish your child to attend a different school other than your resident school, please proceed to the Intradistrict section below
    3. If you DO RESIDE within the Eureka Union School District boundaries and wish your child to attend your resident school, please proceed to the Resident School section below

Intradistrict

These steps are for those who reside within the Eureka Union School District boundaries but wish their child to attend a different EUSD school other than their resident school:
 
All Intradistrict applications are subject to the following terms:
  • Requests must be submitted no later than April 15, 2022 to be considered for the next school year.
  • Student will maintain good academic standing, attendance and proper behavior as determined by the principal of the school of attendance
  • No transportation will be provided
  • Intradistrict students may be asked to return to their school of residency to permit new students to enroll in their neighborhood school.  Changes could occur at any time within the school year.
You are required to complete BOTH online forms below:
 
 
Your registration process is not considered complete until BOTH forms have been submitted!!
 
Your request will be reviewed after the deadline in April. You will receive an approval or denial notification email from PowerSchool Registration or the school site office will contact you directly.
 
Students enrolled for the 2022-2023 school year will also receive an Annual Student Information Update notification which allows you to enter more detailed information about your child for the start of each new school year such as current health concerns and emergency contact information.
 

Resident School

The registration link below is for those who reside within the Eureka Union School District boundaries and wish their child to attend their resident EUSD school.  If you are unsure of which is your resident school, click HERE to find your resident school by address. If you decide that you wish to request a different school, please go to the Intradistrict Registration tab.

Interdistrict

The Eureka Union School District is always eager to welcome new students from neighboring districts.
 
Students that do not reside within the EUSD boundaries are accepted on a space available basis. The student must maintain good academic standing, good attendance and proper behavior as determined by the principal of the school of assignment.
 
Below are the steps that must be followed to complete your Interdistrict Request.
  1. Contact your School District of Residence to obtain and complete their Interdistrict Transfer Request form.
    • A designee of your School District of Residence will sign and date the release form and will mail the form to the Eureka Union School District.
    • Our initial deadline for us to receive all completed forms was April 8, 2022.  We are still accepting transfer requests, however we cannot guarantee placement in the requested school(s).  This is based on space in the requested grade level/program.
    • Once received by our District, the form is date stamped and your family will receive notification of acceptance or denial through the U.S. mail.
  2. For students in grades 7 - 8, you will also need to obtain and provide your requested school a copy of your child's Academic Transcript (including current grades), Attendance Report, and Disciplinary Record (from school of current or most recent enrollment)
  3. Once you have initiated the Interdistrict Transfer process (steps 1 & 2 above), click HERE  to complete the 2022-23 online New Student Registration form.

2022-2023 Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten General Information

TK / K Registration Information

If your child turns 5 years old between September 2 and February 2, he or she is eligible for Transitional Kindergarten enrollment. Students who are enrolled in TK will proceed to Kindergarten the following year.
If your child turns 5 years old on or between February 3, 2023 and April 2, 2023, EUSD is accepting students on a TK wait list.  Please contact the school office to ensure you are wait listed or if you have questions.
If your child turns 5 years old on or before September 1, he or she is eligible for Kindergarten enrollment.
In addition to completing the appropriate New Student Registration procedures outlined below, you will be required to provide the following documentation.
  1. Report of Health Examination for School Entry Form (CHDP) - This is a requirement for 1st grade, but we provide it for incoming Kindergarten students because it is valid for up to 18 months prior to entering 1st grade. Please be advised for the 2022-2023 school year that the physical examination must be completed after February 2021 in order to comply with this requirement. This form must be completed by an authorized medical provider, signed, and stamped.
  2. Oral Health Assessment Form - Must be completed and signed (or stamped) by a dentist prior to May 31st of the student's first year in a California public school.
