Guidelines for Submitting Flyers

Guidelines for Submitting Flyers

Note: The following guidelines apply to all organizations who wish to send information to district families via Wednesday folders, eWednesday folders, and/or Email. The primary function of the Wednesday folder and other district communications tools is to convey district, school and classroom information to parents. In order to reduce the confusing amount of information that has gone home in Wednesday folders, flyers from organizations not directly related to the Eureka Union School District will be minimized.
  • Flyers may be submitted by non-profit, community organizations to the District Office for distribution to all or some grade specific schools. The flyer may be submitted in hard copy &/or emailed to Lisa Cataldo at lcataldo@eurekausd.org. The flyer must be in .pdf or Word format.
  • Flyers must be received at the District Office by the close of business on the Thursday prior to the Wednesday for which distribution is requested. The flyer is forwarded to the Superintendent for approval or denial.
  • Clerical staff will email the flyer to the specified schools for distribution following approval. Most distribution will be handled electronically and the District may choose to post flyers and/or information under the “Community Events, Classes and Sports” webpage of the district website if the information is not directly related to the district and is from an outside source.
  • The Eureka Union School District discourages the duplication of individual flyers to be sent home in Wednesday folders.
Four exceptions are:
    • Flyers from The Eureka Schools Foundation or the District Office will be distributed to all the schools to go home with the students in their Wednesday folders.
    • Flyers from GBHS that promote their various school programs will be printed by GBHS and distributed to each school site for each student to take home via Wednesday folders.
    • Non-profit youth sports organizations that are partners and support GBHS will be allowed to distribute flyers once per year using the same process as GBHS. Those organizations are; GB Jr. Grizzly Football, GB Jr. Cheer, GB Jr. Basketball, GB FC-Soccer, GB Lacrosse, GB Gators Swim Team, Lakeside Little League.
    • The Fall/Winter/Spring STAR catalog will continue to be printed by STAR at their expense and distributed to each site. All of these flyers will be prepared for electronic distribution as well.
